Clo’e Floirat is an art critic, author and cartoonist.
She began her rigorous training in New York, fleetingly leaving France to then attend the Design Academies of Reims and Eindhoven, Netherlands.
This led her to Berlin, working with architects specializing in art spaces for another five years. From working with Robert Wilson as well as Rufus Wainwright in New York for several years, her interests have recently culminated in her graduation from the new master in critical writing in art at the Royal College of Art, London.
Clo’e has become known for her signature drawings - a combination of drawing and writing with a critical orientation, into what she calls drawing Crit’ writing - that cast a critical, humorous and refreshing look on the world of contemporary art. Clo’e is a regular contributor to various publications, e.g., art press, Frieze, Designo, Intramuros, l’Officiel Art and the World of Interiors and draws for the New Yorker and the New York Times.
2011-14 She is a special guest at Monumenta - Grand Palais in Paris since 2011, where she draws and writes along side major contemporary artists such as Anish Kapoor, Daniel Buren, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov.
2016 Clo’e has shown her work at Kamel Mennour gallery.
2017 She has signed the artistic direction of Prima Donna, A Symphonic Visual Concert, by Rufus Wainwright, with Francesco Vezzoli and Cindy Sherman.
2016-18 Clo’e is also the author of “Pas mal pour de l’art !” (Not bad for art!) a graphic novel that consists of a unique portrait of gallery and museum-goersand “Je vois quelqu’un !” (I am seeing someone!) in which she tackles the ambiguous relationships between a shrink and its patients. Marabout editions - 2016 and 2018.
2018 Longchamp has given her carte blanche on a collaboration in November 2018. Bringing her touch to the iconic Le Pliage handbags as well as to a collection of small leather goods and accessories.
2019 “Carte Blanche” given by the Louvre museum, part of the 30th anniversary of Pei’s Pyramid, over the course of 2019. Clo’e creates about a hundred of drawing that are published on Louvre musem Instagram account, as weekly rdv stories.
2019 “Génération Pyramide” a book co-published by Louvre museum and Marabout editions. Four teenagers rushing inside the Louvre museum, with panache and repartee !
